Benjy grew up in and lives in Summerville, graduating from Summerville High School in 1988. He is a member of the Summerville High School Athletic Hall of Fame. He attended the University of North Carolina, the College of Charleston, and graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1997. He has been practicing law since 1997, and is currently the Town Prosecutor for the Town of Summerville. He worked as an Assistant Solicitor and Deputy Solicitor for the First Circuit Solicitor’s Office from 1999 until 2005.
Benjy is married to Toni Lafond and has three beautiful daughters: Alyssa, a registered nurse; Cali, who will be attending the College of Charleston; and Ellie, his wonderful, late-in-life surprise blessing.
